If you're dealing with missing teeth, dental bridges offer a reliable and efficient solution. Dental bridges are dental restorations that literally bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth. They consist of two or more crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap and a false tooth or teeth in between. These anchoring teeth are called abutment teeth, and the false teeth are called pontics. Dental bridges can be made from a variety of materials, including gold, alloys, porcelain, or a combination of these. They provide a natural look, restoring the aesthetics and functionality of your smile.

Why Should I Get Dental Bridges?

If you're missing one or more teeth, you may find it difficult to chew or speak properly. Dental bridges can help rectify these issues, restoring your mouth's functionality. Additionally, dental bridges can help maintain the shape of your face and evenly distribute the forces in your bite, which is particularly important if you're missing a few teeth. Washington Dental bridges also prevent the remaining teeth from drifting out of position, reducing the risk of future dental complications. Contact our Washington dentist for more information!

The Benefits Of Dental Bridges in Washington

Improved Aesthetics

Dental bridges are designed to look natural, blending in seamlessly with your remaining teeth. They fill in the gaps left by missing teeth, restoring your smile and boosting your self-confidence. They are custom-made to match the color, shape, and size of your natural teeth, ensuring a perfect fit and a beautiful, natural look.

Restored Functionality

Missing teeth can make it difficult to chew and speak properly. Dental bridges restore the functionality of your mouth, allowing you to eat your favorite foods without discomfort and speak clearly. They distribute the forces in your bite evenly, preventing further dental complications.

Prevents Teeth Drifting

When you lose a tooth, the remaining teeth can drift out of position, leading to a bad bite and other dental complications. Dental bridges fill in the gap left by the missing tooth, holding your remaining teeth in place and maintaining the integrity of your bite.

Our Washington Dental Bridges Treatment Process

Initial Consultation

The first step in getting a dental bridge is an initial consultation with Dr. Schuyler at Franklin County Dental and Implants. Dr. Schuyler will examine your teeth during this consultation and discuss your treatment options. A treatment plan will be created if a dental bridge is deemed the best solution.

Preparation of Abutment Teeth

The next step involves preparing the abutment teeth. This involves recontouring these teeth by removing a portion of enamel to allow room for a crown to be placed over them. Impressions of the teeth are then made, which will serve as a model from which the dental bridge, pontic, and crowns will be made by a dental lab.

Placement of the Dental Bridge

Once your dental bridge is ready, Dr. Schuyler will check and adjust the bridge as necessary to achieve a proper fit. The bridge is then fixed in place with dental cement, completing the process. You'll leave the office with a restored, beautiful smile.
